Today we woke up shattered, our hostel is great but no window could hide the noise of Pike Place Market at 8am, we also have a complete lad who lurks around the hostel and likes to sing in the street making falling back to sleep near impossible. By the time we had fannied around it was nearly 12! Epic fail! We went in search of food and coffee before we had killed one another - we are both snappy when hungry so the mornings conversations consisted of this:
'do you have the toothpaste?'
'yeah... Why?!'
'what are we doing today?'
'I don't know!'
'well I don't know either!'
Lolz. We love each other really...
Once out of the hostel, we found a cute cafe near the market that did delish coffee and food, I got a salad but then saw someone walk past eating a crab. So I obviously dragged Amy into the market so I could get crabs...
The market is lovely and we even saw the famous 'fish throwing'? Basically two crazy fish men chuck fish at each other whilst singing, it's quite amusing although I'm glad we were stood further back, I definitely spied some fish eyes flying around.
Whilst wondering through the market we came across a brilliant shop that sold old magazines like sports illustrated and playboy, it also had some previously owned postcards in! One of them had, wait for it... My name on it! I freaked the f*** out (picture included).
As we wandered out of the market we stumbled upon the famous gum wall by complete accident! Brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed it and amused myself by sticking to the floor, Amy however was not as amused and I turned around to find her manically scrapping her new toms on any clean surface she could find... Poor shoes.
The weather in Seattle is beautiful so we wanted to make the most of it before the famous rain arrived. We walked down to the Space Needle to spend the afternoon.
The 360 degree view from the top was beautiful and it was clear how much water surrounds the city. Once back down we grabbed some food and sat in the park around the Needle to soak up the sun and take some comedy photos as well as log into some dodgy wiffy (wifi); we have started getting a thrill from using other peoples internet, although we still haven't found anyone with the password 'wiffy123' ... Damn.
We returned to the hostel sufficiently burnt, I now have a brown top half and completely pale bottom half - maxi skirts do not promote an even tan.
Amy spotted a curry place around the corner from our hostel so we decided to give it a visit for dinner - as everyone knows we love a good curreh!
The place seemed popular and we ordered our regular Korma party, it was good but nothing compared to our beloved Castle Cusine... After filling ourselves up we wondered around seeing Seattle at night, it's truly a beautiful city and I wish we had longer here. There's loads of cool bars and restaurant, one bar is a book store too! Genius! We're getting an early night in hope we will get up before midday tomorrow. Bon nuit!
"dragged Amy into the market so I could get crabs.."
ReplyDeleteIs this a metaphor?
Kitty you're hair is so long! That curry does not look as impressive as CC by far. It's obvious who this is, I hope. x
