Kray be Cray
Today we all - particularly me and Clare - had slightly sore heads after drinking the night before. We spent the morning lazing around before heading out in search of some good eats. We stumbled upon a Cuban restaurant that attracted us instantly because of its animal print interior and bright colours. Here we ate plantain nachos and an amazing chicken stew with beans and rice - delish.
We wondered around near Milwaukee and Damen enjoying the hot weather before heading back. Once we were back at the hostel we noticed Kray in the kitchen. She was cooking something that smelt amazing so I went over to have a look, as i did this i noticed her walking back from the fridge with a yoghurt in her hand... My yoghurt. Needless to say shit got heated. I asked if that was hers to which she replied 'no, it's from the fridge - free fridge no?' FREE FRIDGE!? FREE FRIDGE?!? She had been helping herself to the food with people's names on all week! No wonder she's been offering people food! I proceeded to tell her that it was people's food then tried to explain how she needs to notice that people wrote their names on the food. I pointed out our names on the yogurts to which she just smiled - Kray be cray.
Today Lauren was leaving our hostel and moving into a friends flat just down the road, they had just moved out and still had a month left in the flat so kindly let Lauren crash there. While we waited for her to hear when she could move in we decided to go check out North Beach on Lake Michigan!
A bus from right outside our hostel took us straight there, the beach was amazing but so bizarre! People playing in the water, sandy beach, waves crashing and then in the other direction the city and it's beautiful skyscrapers! Very odd! The weather was beautiful so we all went for a swim in the lovely clear water, we were all very chuffed that we had swam in lake Michigan ;)
The only downside to the beach was the terrifying amount of seagulls! They were horrible and spent the entire time gnawing on one another whilst fighting for food. There were also some terrifying flies that kept biting us making us leap up from the sand in pain! Whilst trying to tan we were approached by some local guys who found the mixture of our accents hilarious, once they realised none of us were interested they soon made their way to the next group of tourists. Thank god. Cray.
Once back from the beach Lauren explained how she best 'go back to mine', 'I best get back to my pad' etc etc - haha!! After teasing us she went to go check out her new home for the next few days whilst we set up dinner.
Tonight we dined on yet another Mexican feast! We tried to watch 'Beethoven 2' but Netflix went cray cray so we decided to watch Seinfeld instead. After tea Lauren went back to 'her place' while we headed to bed to sleep through Krays snoring/midnight phone calls.
