The Great British Bake off / Weekend Woes
Waking up at midday with sore heads we both knew we wouldn't be able to achieve much today. San Fransisco nights are not what we're used to at home, they have a very relaxed atmosphere and consist of bar hopping whilst drinking VERY strong drinks - trebles has nothing on these bars!
So we eventually dragged ourselves out of bed and went to the shop to pick up the ingredients for my famous gluten free chocolate peanut butter cookies. And yes, they are as good - if not better! - as they sound.
I knocked up several batches and we spent the afternoon stuffing ourselves with them whilst trying to plan the rest of our trip. As a result the entire weekend wasn't very eventful, we were both stressed out of our minds and horribly grumpy upon realising how much we had left ourselves to plan, we also realised we still had two full weeks left over that we hadn't planned for!
This meant we needed to find 2 more places to visit that weren't too expensive to get to! Total Nightmare!
We had severely underestimated the amount of effort and research that goes into each destination and trying to find places we both wanted to see was proving tricky. However you will all be glad to know that once the oestrogen levels calmed and we'd eaten more chocolate, the hair pulling and snarling stopped and we began to see the light.
Jeff had told us to see everything as a positive on our trip and to work at expanding from where we were logically, we took his advice and started to look at our trip differently and saw the logical way of including new places. Which meant adding Seattle back into the mix and Philly! We've also gone hostel cray cray booking beds in rooms with 10 people for the next month - hopefully no crazy old Chilean women in these hostels!
Anyhow to conclude we are sorted! There are a few bits and bobs to book obz but in the grand scheme of life we are set! Here is our plan:
San Francisco > Vancouver > Victoria > Seattle > Chicago > Toronto > Philledelphia > Washington D.C. > Boston > NYC
Woohoo!
We are so excited to get going on the next leg of our trip! And yes, we are aware we are crossing the border to Canada but it's just too nice up there!
So apologies for our slow blogging this weekend, big decisions got in the way but we are back on track now!
