Fro-Yo Party!

Eventually the time came for our final full day in San Francisco. We filled this day with wandering around (as ever), firstly down to Hayes Valley again and then back further along Fillmore, looking in all the cool little shops as we went.

The highlight of our wandering was the discovery of one of the many frozen yoghurt places on Fillmore. You paid for your 'fro-yo' by weight... It was like pick'n'mix but so much better!! As well as different types of yoghurt, there were endless choices of things to sprinkle on top; everything from strawberries to mini brownies, coloured sprinkles to mini Reese's peanut butter cups. Amazing. Once we had piled things on, we sat directly outside the window on a little table to eat them. They did not disappoint!

We had decided to cook a meal since it was our last night, and went for the famous Jamie Oliver special of pasta with peas, mint, bacon and creme fraiche from Ministry of Food. This was obviously achieved using gluten free pasta! Jeff thoroughly enjoyed and Angelo even had some after consuming his epic portion of salad. They were both amazed at how normal the gluten free pasta tastes (it just tastes like normal pasta). I'm used to this whole gluten free pasta party being friends with Kitty and all, and it does just taste like normal pasta.

Jeff even found some champagne that was apparently meant to be for Independence Day so we cracked that open and managed to drink the whole bottle between the three of us whilst discussing plane disasters and fears and stories of lost luggage; not really very ideal the night before we were flying!!

As a thank you, we bought Jeff and Angelo some nice yellow flowers, and a really nice and simple thank you card, the envelope of which Kitty took upon herself to decorate until it became a work of art! We also found an excellent device called 'Holy Toast' which you pressed into bread before you toast it that gave the illusion of the Virgin Mary on your toast. We thought this might come in handy for them to trick their guests into thinking they were witnessing a miracle! Even better though, we stumbled across a book called 'The History of the World According to Facebook' and just had to get it for Jeff; it was absolutely genius and covered most of the important events in history, but what sold it for us was the example used on the front cover (see photo) after our extensive discussions with Jeff about when another asteroid is going to hit Earth. Always thinking positive!!

We had such a great time in San Francisco staying with Jeff and Angelo. San Francisco is definitely one of my favourite places in the world and I'm sure one day I will return again. The one thing we continued to be amazed by the entire time we were there was the sheer number of dogs!! People parading their dogs were literally everywhere. This was something I didn't remember from my previous visit but was massively obvious this time!
