'Yo I heard the rain storms ain't nutin' to mess wit!'

We woke this morning to grey skies, a broken lightbulb in both our bathroom and bedroom AND rain outside. This meant more time in bed and more bunk bed banter. We've managed to create some sort of sign language as not to wake anyone up when we want to talk. However I usually make a fair bit of noise when I clamber down the ladder of the bed and knock the phone off the wall with my ass.
Classy as ever.
We went out for breakfast this morning to pass the time before the sun showed it's pretty little face, Amy got an all American breakfast whilst I opted for a Cuban feast of mozzarella, chorizo, fried onion and eggs. The waiter took my 'no bread' request and instead gave me a huuuge pile of French fries it's 17:50 and I still feel morbidly obese.) Amy on the other hand is nibbling on our random combination of snacks whilst humming a Kanye West song... Standard.
After breakfast we came back to get Irina, whilst she got ready the Chilean woman lectured us on the importance of being able to speak spanish. I tried to defend myself with my mad french skillz but by her reaction of putting her radio on and falling asleep I got the message. 'bof!'
To escape listening to the Chilean radio we went shopping down Lincoln Road (shire represent!). We started walking past a shop and both Irina and Sparks looked shifty trying to walk faster, but it was too late, I turned to look and let out some form of extra terrestrial squeal before running inside - M.A.C * inserts angels singing * it was a beautiful moment.
An hour or so later we left mac... and headed back to relax by the pool. By this point the sun was out and it was very very hawt!!
We're just about to make dinner in the outside kitchen they have here which is lovely and really encourages people to get to know one another. Hostels have a lovely community feel which is something I have really enjoyed and hope to see more of on the rest of our travels!
Tonight we head out to party Miami style before greyhounding to Orlando tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully we won't be too hungover...
I'll try my best not to do a crunk blogpost later but with this free wifi everywhere it is tempting.
Here's a few photos to get jealous over ;)

Day 2 - Miami Vice

We woke up bright and early this morning (surprising, I know!!), slapped on the sun cream and headed straight to the beach. The beach is absolutely beauuuut, and its ridiculously hot but there has been a nice breeze today, especially by the sea. After a morning of attempting to tan and remaining very pale in comparison to the majority of the beach, we wondered into town to find some lunch. There's something about Miami which feels quite European, we can't figure out what it is, especially the areas with restaurants and trees and smaller streets. On this wander we found the most brilliant shop that sold... wait for it... puppies!!! Literally real life puppies in little box cage things behind glass. Only in America!

After lunch we mooched back to our hostel. All our roommates were milling about too, the French girls left today and we've got a new roommate who is a 60+year old lady from Chile!! She's pretty friendly, and full of stories but obviously has a very different attitude to the hostel experience to us lot!! There was an insane heavy shower of rain this afternoon, it literally came from nowhere and then was gone almost immediately because it's so hot it dried up!

We're absolutely knackered tonight, I think the lack of sleep is catching up with us (well it certainly is on the sparks front!!) so were having a chilled evening with our German roommate Irina. She's really nice, and has been travelling the world for 11 months already!! There's many a story being exchanged and we're sitting outside in the outdoor kitchen as I type eating olives, crisps, cheese and crackers and drinking wine. Who knew we could be so civilised!

Miami Miami Miami!!!

We are here!!!
We've been awake since 3am yesterday.... Wahhh! But we are still going strong, Miami is amazing!! The beach is stunning and our hostel is in a great location and is full of keen travellers with a hilarious receptionist with an obsession with 'Family Guy' (he's laughing to clips on youtube as I type!!). Amaze.
We have just got in from having some cocktails and french fries by the beach, discussing how weird it was to finally be here and how crazy this last month has been! It's hard to believe we will be in the states for 3 months!
